Grant Programmes at BCF

Although building a community endowment is the Bermuda Community Foundation's primary purpose at this time -- and we are in our infancy, some grant opportunities do become available primarily through two grant programmes: the Managed Grants Programme and the Bermuda Community Fund Grant Programme.

Managed Grant Programmes

Managed Grant Programmes are external funders' grant programmes to which the foundation provides support.  These are donor-advised programmes.  Sponsoring funders of managed grant programmes are typically companies or donors who have established a Donor Fund at BCF.  The application deadlines vary considerably depending on the sponsoring Donor Fund.

Special Grant Notice

Our donor-client, a multi-national company in Bermuda, has expressed an interest in providing grant support to projects that help individuals and communities develop the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a global economy.

On their behalf, we seek proposals for programmes that will help individuals gain employment or get better jobs; to manage their money and their personal finances. Applications for support to programmes that foster and support new business development and emerging business leaders are also sought.

Our client’s community investment activities focus on employability, financial capabilities and entrepreneurship.

Programmes targeting specific disadvantaged populations such as:  unemployed people, low income, people with disabilities, people trying to re-enter the job market after a career break, ethnic minorities, and/or young people in care, are of particular interest.

Successful applicants will be able demonstrate how their programmes bring a lasting benefit to Bermuda and benefit a broad cross section of the local community. Successful programmes will also have measurable outcomes.

To be eligible, applicants must be a Bermuda registered nonprofit. To be considered for funding, applicants will also need to provide proof of operational sustainability in the form of 3 years of audited financial statements.

If your registered charity delivers a programme in one or more of these areas, please submit your grant proposal here.

Currently, the managed programme grants are considered quarterly:

January
March/April
September/October
December
